Planning A Teeny Tiny Jane Austen Doll Gown

February 21, 2020

make a miniature jane austen gown

Our Jane Austen project continues! This week I’m sharing the first bit of clothing for our bunny dolls. (Get the FREE Bunny pattern here) It’s the dress, of course! How could I start with anything else besides a good old Regency style gown?

This was the first time I’ve made a pattern for miniature clothing, and it was quite the adventure to create. Just finding the right materials to work with on such a small scale was a bit of a challenge. Have you worked on a lot of doll dresses? What materials are your favorites to use? I’m going to need all the tips I can get as I work on all these adorable mini outfits.

I’ve made a little video of the design process on this gown and am working on putting the final touches on the pattern and instructions to share with you soon. (Hopefully next week!)
