Welcome Spring!

April 5, 2012

I love when the weather gets warmer and the flowers start peeking through the ground!  I saw this super simple idea from fiberfarm.com and just had to make my own. You just take yarn, cut it in 4-8″ pieces and put it out for the birds to use in their nests.   It’s the perfect way to use up those ends of yarn that are just long enough you don’t want to throw them away, but short enough you can’t actually do much with them.

The original instructions say to use a Suet Feeder but I got this little bird feeder last year thinking it was so cute, but then was so disappointed- the holes are too big for any bird seed I can find.  And so it had been sitting in our garage for a whole year while I tried to figure out what to do with it.  Hooray for finding a great idea!  I really hope I get to see a bird’s nest with a bit of color in it this summer!
