Week 2 of our Jane Austen Play Set! The first part of the project that I wanted to tackle was the doll. I’ve been thinking about this doll for so long now and I was anxious to get in there and make sure that I could really design something that would fit into a doll house but wasn’t too horribly tiny to sew.
Also… I decided that the doll should be a bunny. I know, I know, Jane Austen obviously did NOT write her epic romances about the travails taking place in the Cottontail Universe. But, alas, a bunny we will sew. (The thinking behind this is explained in the video below.)
The exact ins and outs of sewing this doll will come in a future video. I didn’t want to completely bore you with a 20 minute tutorial unless you were invested in sewing along. This week is just a fun overview of how I designed the doll and next time I will share the official pattern pieces along with a full, step by step video tutorial.
Hope you are having a wonderful week, and I’m excited to share this pattern with you next time.

So cute!! I am in love with this bunny! I make stuffed toys and want to make these little bits of cute for the two little girls in my life. Don’t want to miss anything you are doing as these little girls that I have “adopted” as great-grand daughters can play as they grow. I make dresses for them as well and cannot wait to make outfits to match everyone as you go along with your stories. Thank you for sharing your talent.
