Reducing the size of your printed pattern is easy, but it does require access to a copy machine. My printer has a scanner attached, so I’m able to do this from home. If yours doesn’t, (or if you have no idea how to make it work!) you’ll have to head out and find a copy machine. I usually use the ones at my public library or a print center like Staples or Kinkos. The added bonus to going out is that you’ll have someone help you figure out how to set everything up!
Once you get your printed pattern to a copy machine, you can set the copy size larger or smaller. Making the pieces larger is a great option if you don’t like working with little pieces. Reduce the copy size to make a smaller version of your pattern. This is a great option to make adorable Christmas ornaments.
To make my Christmas ornaments I set my copy machine to reduce the images 70%. This gave me a good size to make ornaments little enough to fit on a tree, but with big enough pieces that I didn’t go completely crazy sewing them up. (I do admit, they were a little fussy to work with, but they were so cute I think it was worth it!)
Once your pattern is printed to the size you like, your ready to get started on your own, unique creation!
