I’m so excited about how well our Miniature Hooded Cape sewing pattern will work for the Peter Rabbit project that I’ve been working on.
There are officially 40 days until Easter, and I’m really hoping my health will hold out so I can finish this adorable project in time!
I wanted to find an easy way to convert our Mini Bunny Family pattern into the Peter Rabbit family. There are a lot of characters to consider, so I wanted to find a way to represent them with a simple piece of clothing. I designed these miniature hooded capes specifically for Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail. They are pretty quick to sew up and I love the option of picking out an adorable mini print for the lining. (not to mention picking out ribbon for the ties! I love a good excused to use cute ribbon!)
While the original idea came for the Peter Rabbit project, I wanted to make sure this pattern could be used in lots of ways. The pattern includes a short and long version. You can add arm holes or not. There are pieces for the big (Adult) sizes and little (kid) sizes of our Animal families.
I had so much fun making up a few versions of these for our Elf Family to use during the holidays, and I feel like I will be pulling it out again and again for lots more projects.
You can find the pattern over on our Etsy shop. I’ve also just posted a video tutorial on our YouTube channel, so you can feel confident making up one of these, even as a beginner seamstress.
