Mini Bunny Doll – Free Sewing Pattern

January 24, 2020

It’s Week three of working on our Jane Austen Play Set and today I’m sharing the Mini Bunny Doll Free Sewing Pattern.

This week is all about making your very own 1:12 scale mini bunny doll. (ok, it is the tiniest bit bigger than 1:12 scale, but it still totally works in a standard size doll house. And the pieces won’t driving you nuts as you sew it, so you are welcome for the tiny size adjustment!)

You can make it alone to use in a doll house or make it as the first step in our Jane Austen Play Set journey.  (Admittedly, if you are just watching this journey, not sewing along, this video will be a bit dry.  But don’t worry, next time we will have some more eye candy for your viewing pleasure.)

First and foremost, to get your FREE pattern, click the button below to download the PDF. Since this is a FREE Bunny Doll pattern, there are no instructions included in the pattern, just the pieces. But every step is laid out for you on our Youtube video, so you’ll be able to sew along no problem!

If you are sewing along, here is what you’ll need to make your very own bunny:

Mini Bunny Doll Materials

  • Fill out the Free Mini Bunny form to get your FREE pattern (If you’d prefer a pattern with written instructions, or if you don’t want to be part of our email list, you can find the full pattern in our Etsy shop by clicking here )
  • 20” x 12” piece Fabric A (I suggest using a thin, sturdy fabric such as quilting cotton)
  • 8” x 6” piece Fabric B (again, cotton is a great option)
  • Fiber Fill (just a small amount will do)
  • Embroidery floss (for eyes and nose)
  • Coordinating thread
  • Removable marking pen
  • Hemostats to help turn and stuff your little pieces
  • Chopstick to help turn

Step by Step Video Instructions

As always, I LOVE to see what you create! Please share your bunnies on your favorite social media using #sweetbriarsisters. Can’t want to see your creations!

If you’d prefer written instructions, you can find the fully illustrated pattern in our Etsy shop.

I really am having a hard time with the arms, head placement. I wish you would have gone slower and really had zoomed in on this step. I’m so confused, having to stop for the night and start again tomorrow. Maybe I am just over thinking. I’m loving my bunny so far and terrified of making a mistake.

I’m so glad to hear you are loving it so far! Were you able to figure it out? The arm is lined up with the seam connecting the two body pieces. You are more than welcome to send me a photo of where you got stuck and I can try and help.

No written instructions yet, I’m actually working on a set right now that will be available for purchase soon. But for the free pattern it’s just the video.

I have made a couple of these for my kids and I am really loving them. I would like to make a mommy and daddy version. Is there an easy way to resize the pattern to make a larger bunny version?

    • Jessica says

      May 4, 2020 at 11:56 am

I’m so glad you are liking them!!! The pattern pieces will work great scaled larger. When you go to print your PDF, there is an option for “custom scale” and then you can type in your preferred scale. Anything over 100% will enlarge it!
