Summer is Here!

May 24, 2013

spring bouquet

Flowers from my chive plant with sage leaves. (smells amazing in the kitchen! I’m already excited for Thanksgiving)

Last year I started my first Cut Flower garden and LOVED it!  Why would you grow a bunch of vegetables if you could grow yourself a pretty bouquet instead?!  (ok, we still grow veggies, but the flowers are still a lot more fun to me).

I had so much fun using herbs are the greens last year.  Nothing quite like a bouquet full of pineapple sage to make your home smell like summer!  Or a bit of mint on my night stand to smell right when I wake up.

Most of my flowers are still just coming up, but my herbs are already huge!  I’ve officially made my first round of bouquets and am so excited for Summer to come full on.  🙂

I can not wait until our lilacs are big enough that I can cut off big chunks for huge bouquets. Until then, this little guy will have to do.
