Ok, I promise this will be my last post about the Salem Quilt Retreat- I just wanted to make sure I got everything down so I won’t forget!
Each year one of the presentations at the retreat has been a cooking demonstration. This year it was sugar cookies. And they were those amazing sugar cookies- you know the ones. Pink frosting. Soft cookie. Soooo good. Here’s the recipe- I’m so excited to try them out (but I definitely need to wait until I have a LOT of people to share them with!)
More Work Than I Want To Do Sugar Cookies
Preheat oven to 350
Mix
2 cups sugar
1 cup Blue Bonnet Margarine (soft)
(I know. Not butter. It seems so wrong. But trust me- there were so good!)2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda (fresh)
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
6 to 7 cups flour- more if needed
Roll out 3/16” thick, cut up with cookie cutters. Bake 9 mins and frost
Frosting
1 cube Blue Bonnet (soft)
16 oz cream cheese (soft)
2 lb powder sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 little canned milk (not sweetened condensed)
Mix together Blue Bonnet and cream cheese- whip for 3 mins. Add powder sugar. Add vanilla. Add milk- enough to get the thickness you like. Frost and enjoy!
