Reducing the Size of PDF Patterns

November 1, 2013

I love the options that come with PDF patterns.  First of all, they’re hard to lose!  And second, I love that you can print them at different sizes if you’d like to change up your finished product a bit.  One of my favorite reduced size projects are making Christmas ornaments out of full size patterns.

mini dino

To make my smaller dino, I just opened the PDF pattern in Adobe Acrobat and pressed print to bring up the Print Options Box as shown.

When the print open window comes up, find the option for Page Scaling and pick Multiple Pages Per Sheet.

You’ll now have the option to pick how many pages will print per sheet.  I chose 2, which reduces the pattern to about half size.

Once you’ve got those options set up, go ahead and print your mini pattern pieces and you’ll be ready to get started on an adorable, mini project!
