Mia is a monster. But don’t worry, she’s actually a fairy monster- which means she’s nice. The fur she’s made of has been sitting in my craft closet for years, whispering into my ears every time I walked by- ‘Please!!! Make me into a puppet!’. I mean, what else could aqua blue 2 inch curly fur possibly be made into? I really had no choice. And once she was made I really had no option but to put her in a huge puffy tutu and make her into a fairy. I mean, who could possibly resist?!
She comes complete with a magic wand, fairy wings and fairy shoes.
But I have to admit, my favorite part is how her little bum sticks out of her tutu in the back!
Mia is made with the Mostro pattern from PuppetProject.com. It’s the best puppet making site out there, in my opinion. Great patterns, lots of free tutorials and tons of photos to get your imagination rolling. The Mostro pattern is pretty expensive, so I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re as crazy about puppets as I am (Mia is the 11th puppet I’ve made from this pattern and I’m sure there are more to come, so I’d say it was worth it for me) But they have some patterns that look great and start at about a third the price as this one. Everything I’ve done with them has been super high quality so I’d bet your safe getting just about whatever you want.
