Just found out via Slick Deals that Adobe is giving out their Creative Suite 2 for free! The Adobe Creative Suite is a bundle of software that includes Photoshop (for photo editing), Illustrator (for creating computer illustrations and layouts) and InDesign (for putting all your artwork and information into multi-page documents such as newsletters or books). It includes a couple more too, but those are the most well known.
I went there myself and it looks like the deal is a good one. You just need to create a Adobe.com username and password (which is free to create any time). CS2 is an older version of the software (Their currently on CS6) but it’s still very good and, quite frankly, if you don’t already own a version of this software, you likely won’t even know the difference. (the changes they make from one version to another are typically details used by professionals- the quality of editing personal photos, for example, will stay the same)
If you are interested, click here for the downloads. I’m not sure how long they’ll have this available – hopefully when you find this it’s still there! (they just put this deal on Slick Deals today so the Adobe site is running S.L.O.W! I had to reload a couple times before I got on)
***If you are new to this software, I highly suggest checking out YouTube for ‘How-To’ videos to get started. Lynda.com is also a fantastic resource. The reason Adobe’s software is so well known is because it’s Professional level quality available to the every day person. But just because anyone can get it doesn’t mean they’re making it so just anyone can sit down in one sitting and easily use it. It’s not supposed to be simple to learn, it’s supposed to be good at what it does. And it is good, very good in fact! You’ll see that if you give yourself time to learn how to use it!***
