I had such a fun time making up these July 4th t-shirts! I’ve really been loving raw edged applique lately. It’s so easy (perfect beginner project!) and so fast (I made all three of those shirts in an afternoon!). And I love the fact that with a simple enough applique pattern, you can create something for such a wide variety of ages.
Because raw edge applique is such a great beginner’s project, I thought I’d made up a little video tutorial on exactly how to do it. These shirts are made with our Shining Star Applique pattern, but you could easily use any image that can easily be traced. (hint- do a google search for coloring pages of the image you want to find- flower coloring pages, train coloring pages etc. You’ll find a ton of stuff you can use!) Once you start, you’ll think of hundreds of uses for these easy technique. From making coordinating tshirts, to making adorable pillows, to hiding a stain or hole in your kids’ clothes.
