Here a step by step process I used to paint a bowl of oranges. It’s not my favorite piece, but I learned a lot about glazes as I worked on this.
My teacher taught us that you should glaze yellow, then blue, then red to get the best color vibrancy. Here’s a bit of that process…
Here’s where I started to like the strength of the colors I used and was able to get in some little details like the reflection of the orange and the stems of each fruit.
This last step is still questionable to me. My teacher suggested getting my colors even more intense with more glazes, but I think I liked it a little better before I did that! Oh well, school is for learning, not creating masterpieces 🙂
